Barcelona's Nelson Semedo moves to Wolverhampton

Wolves announced the signing of Portugal right-back Nelson Semedo from Barcelona on Wednesday for a fee that could rise to £37 million. The Premier League club said the 26-year-old had signed a three-year deal at Molineux, with an option to extend until 2025.

English football club Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday confirmed the signing of Nelson Semedo.

"I'm very excited to be here. It's a very good team. To play in the Premier League is a dream from me too. So, I'm very excited to begin, to meet my teammates and start training," Semedo. 26, said on the Wolves' website.

"They can expect a modern right-back, who likes to attack. I can bring the team pace, speed. I like to go forward and come back. They can expect a lot of work and a lot of ambition," he added.

Semedo's contract will keep him at Molineux until June 2023, with an option to extend it to June 2025, the club said in a statement.

Barcelona said on its website that the English side would pay $35 million, plus $11 million more in variables to the Spanish club.

Semedo helped Barca claim two La Liga titles while scoring two goals and 11 assists in 124 games.
