Israel claims over 400 airstrikes on Tehran infrastructure in past 2 days

Israel claimed Wednesday that it carried out more than 400 airstrikes over the past two days targeting infrastructure in Tehran.

In a statement, the Israeli army said that using 650 munitions, the air force conducted more than 400 strikes "against infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime."

It added that Israeli warplanes carried out an extensive wave of overnight strikes targeting dozens of sites in the heart of the Iranian capital.

The army claimed the attacks hit around 15 weapons production sites, including a central complex affiliated with Iran's Defense Ministry.

According to the statement, the complex included facilities for producing and developing advanced missiles designed to target fighter jets and drones.

Air defense systems, as well as sites used for launching, producing, and storing ballistic missiles and other missiles intended to target aircraft, were also struck, the army said.

The US and Israel have carried out airstrikes on Iran since Feb. 28, so far killing more than 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran has retaliated with strikes across the region, causing casualties and infrastructure damage.
