Two journalists working for the Lebanese Al-Mayadeen television were killed in Israeli shelling on the Tayr Harfa area in southern Lebanon.

In a statement, Al-Mayadeen mourned the death of correspondent Farah Omar and cameraman Rabie Al-Maamari.

The Israeli army has yet to comment on the incident.

Earlier, a Reuters cameraman was killed in Israeli shelling on southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army and Hezbollah have been engaged in deadly skirmishes along the border since the Palestinian group Hamas carried out a surprise attack on southern Israel on Oct. 7.

On Nov. 13, Israel's Security Cabinet approved a proposal to block the Al-Mayadeen television channel and shut its offices in Israel.
