Government agencies in the Gaza Strip confirmed Friday that areas surrounding the Al-Shifa Hospital and the Al-Shati Camp are subjected to "violent" bombardment by Israeli forces.

"The Israeli occupation is currently launching a series of violent raids in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital and Al-Shati Camp, west of Gaza City, interspersed with the launching of phosphorus bombs," said the Interior Ministry.

Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra, in a separate statement, described the "insane" bombing around hospitals in Gaza City and the northern Strip.

"Ambulances cannot move, as a result of the insane bombing," he said, noting that "the Israeli occupation is focusing on bombing the vicinity of Al-Shifa Medical Complex and the hospitals of Gaza and northern Gaza."

Almost all hospitals in the besieged Gaza Strip came under Israeli attacks and airstrikes in the last 24 hours, including Al-Shifa, which saw at least four rounds of airstrikes in the same period.

Israel has launched relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip -- including hospitals, residences and houses of worship -- since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, on Oct. 7.

At least 11,078 Palestinians have been killed, including 4,506 children and 3,027 women.

The Israeli death toll is nearly 1,600, according to official figures.
