Saudi Arabia on Wednesday concluded separate joint military exercises with both the U.S. and Sudanese armed forces.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the joint Saudi-U.S. drills -- dubbed "Shield of Prevention 2" -- wrapped up Wednesday at the Prince Sultan Airbase in the Saudi city of Al-Kharj.

At a closing ceremony, Major-General Mohamed bin Abdulkhaliq al-Ghamdi, Saudi chief of military operations, said the drills were aimed at "enhancing cooperation with friendly forces".

On the same day, the Saudi Royal Land Forces concluded joint drills with their Sudanese counterparts at the Prince Khaled bin Sultan Center for Tactical Training in northern Saudi Arabia.

Dubbed the "Al-Hazem 1" wargames, the drills were aimed at exchanging military experience and expertise between the two participant states.
