Israel's parliament has ordered additional security for a lawmaker who launched a "racist" attack on families of jailed Palestinians.
The Knesset Guard decided to assign extra protection for Oren Hazan, a lawmaker for Israel's right-wing Likud party, The Jerusalem Post reported Tuesday.
On Monday, Hazan boarded a bus carrying Palestinian families from Gaza to Nafta prison to visit their jailed relatives and harassed them verbally, sparking an angry reaction.
In coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross, Israeli authorities allow a limited number of Palestinians to visit their relatives in prison.
