Muslim scholars call for global efforts by Islamic world to halt Israel's genocide-level attacks on Gaza Strip

The World Union of Muslim Scholars has issued a statement, calling upon leaders of Islamic nations to intervene and put an end to Israel's attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip. The statement, which was published on their website, highlights the serious crimes that resemble genocide, which have been perpetrated against the women, children, and elderly population in Gaza.

The World Union of Muslim Scholars has called upon leaders of Islamic nations to take action in order to halt Israel's attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip.

In a statement published on their website, the organization emphasized the grave crimes amounting to genocide that have been committed against women, children, and the elderly in Gaza.
Muslim Scholars also pointed the finger at the targeting of hospitals, mosques, and churches, as well as the restriction of access to water, electricity, food, and medicine in the blockaded region.

The statement further underlined that the use of lethal weapons has resulted in the deaths of nearly 6,000 people in Gaza, primarily women and children, with approximately 15,000 others sustaining injuries. The World Union of Muslim Scholars described these actions as genocide and crimes against humanity.

In addition to condemning the tragic situation in Gaza, the statement criticized Western leaders for supporting Israel's actions on the grounds of "self-defense." It said that legitimate resistance against occupiers is permitted in all heavenly religions and that Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza have the right to engage in legitimate resistance in response to the attacks on October 7.

The leaders of Islamic countries were called upon to sever diplomatic and economic relations with Israel to immediately halt the attacks on Gaza. If the attacks persist, the statement proposed taking similar measures against countries supporting Israel.

The statement also included a call for the establishment of an international humanitarian alliance, involving international human rights organizations as well as countries that support the rights of the Palestinian people in Asia, Europe, and South America. It referred to the situation in Gaza as the "crime of the century," akin to the Nazis' racism, and described it as a Holocaust against the Palestinian people there.

Additionally, the statement noted that despite Islamic countries collectively possessing 50 percent of the world's oil reserves, there is a shortage of fuel to operate hospitals in Gaza. It called for the initiation of land and air aid operations to meet the needs of the Palestinian population in Gaza.

Furthermore, the statement indicated that if Israel continues to prevent the entry of fuel into Gaza, a comprehensive boycott should be imposed on countries supporting Israel, similar to the action taken by Saudi Arabian King Faisal bin Abdulaziz in 1973.
Muslim scholars urged the Islamic world to make global efforts in order to prevent the displacement of people in Gaza, as it is seen as part of the occupying enemy's objective to destroy the region's inhabitants. "If successful, this would lead to the expulsion of people in the occupied West Bank, thereby fulfilling the ambitions of right-wing Zionists to establish a Jewish state in Palestine," The World Union of Muslim Scholars said in a statement.
