The "Madleen" ship, which set out to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and was seized in international waters by genocidal Israeli forces, was taken to the Ashdod Port. The 12 human rights activists on board were also taken into custody.
On board the Madleen ship were notable figures including Rima Hassan, a French member of the European Parliament (EP), and German citizen Yasemin Acar, as well as Hüseyin Şuayb Ordu from Türkiye, Thiago Avila from Brazil, Sergio Toribio from Spain, Marco van Rennes from the Netherlands, Baptiste Andre, Reva Viard, Pascal Maurieras, and Yanis Mhamdi from France, Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, and journalist Omar Faiad.
The ship was carrying urgent humanitarian aid that is vital for the people of Gaza. This aid included items such as baby formula, flour, rice, diapers, feminine hygiene products, water purification kits, medical supplies, crutches, and prosthetics for children.
