Celebrating the Cyprus victory with the ınauguration of new Ercan airport
The 49th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation will be crowned today with the opening of the New Ercan Airport.

The airport, which has successfully completed test flights, will witness the first landing of President Erdoğan's plane. President Erdoğan will be welcomed at the new terminal building of Ercan Airport by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will inaugurate the New Ercan Airport, which has been completed in Lefkoşa, on the anniversary of the July 20 Cyprus Peace Operation.
President Erdoğan's plane will make the first landing at the New Ercan Airport, following a three-day official visit to Gulf countries, before heading to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus , the homeland.
President Erdoğan will be welcomed at the new terminal building of Ercan Airport by KKTC President Ersin Tatar, KKTC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
After the opening, President Erdoğan and his delegation will participate in a ceremony at the Nicosia Atatürk Monument.
After laying wreaths, observing a moment of silence, and signing the special monument book, the official ceremony for the July 20 Peace and Freedom Day will be held at Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the new terminal building of Ercan Airport will change the face of the island and host wide-bodied aircraft with its increased capabilities.
He also emphasized that the airport has a capacity of 10 million passengers, and the 3,100-meter-long new runway allows for the use of all types of passenger aircraft.
The airport features 9 air bridges and a total of 30 aircraft parking spaces, including 21 open parking spaces. Ercan Airport will draw attention with its capacity of 1,500 cars in the closed parking area and state-of-the-art facilities.
With its modern architecture and environmentally-friendly design, Ercan Airport stands as an exemplary airport.
The Ercan Airport is expected to contribute significantly to tourism and the economy.
