Anger at Netanyahu in Israeli media: 'Gaza Plan' sparks major reaction

Israel-based News Israel described the meeting as 'the greatest theater in history.' The report stated, 'Not even Shakespeare could have written this play better. Netanyahu put on a shameful display of admiration just to inflate Trump's ego.'

"A FAILURE FOR TEL AVIV"

The Israeli news site Kikar harshly criticized Netanyahu's apology to Qatar. Netanyahu's former spokesperson Omer Dostri said, 'This meeting is an absolute failure for Tel Aviv.'

Far-right ministers also reacted to Trump's Gaza plan, saying, 'It's nonsense for our army to leave the area instead of removing Hamas from Gaza. Netanyahu has no authority to wave the white flag.'

Israel's The Times of Israel newspaper highlighted that Netanyahu appeared to have adopted the Gaza proposal, which is also supported by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with the backing of leading Arab and Muslim countries.

The article included the comment, "Netanyahu seems to have accepted that there is no better way than Trump's proposal. This situation will put his political future at risk."

MUNICH AGREEMENT COMPARISON

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich compared the apology to Qatar to the Munich Agreement signed in 1938 between Nazi Germany and Great Britain, France, and Italy. Smotrich stated, "Apologizing to a state that supports and finances terrorism is shameful."

GREAT REACTION FROM ISRAELI POLITICIANS

The Israeli media outlet The Jerusalem Post covered Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman's criticism of Netanyahu's apology to Qatar.

The statement, "It is unbelievable that Netanyahu apologized to Qatar, which has not condemned the October 7 massacre until today. However, he has never apologized to the Israeli people during his tenure," was highlighted.

STRONG REACTION FROM THE OPPOSITION

Opposition leader Yair Lapid, following Netanyahu's apology, posted on the U.S.-based social media platform X, saying, "Netanyahu should apologize not to the citizens of Qatar, but to the citizens of Israel."
