Those who wanted to perfom the Eid al-Fitr prayer in the Hagia Sophia-i Kebir Mosque began to flock into the mosque from the early hours of the morning.
Muslims from other cities and abroad, as well as from Istanbul, filled Hagia Sophia before the time of salat al Eid.
Citizens and tourists stood on the prayer rugs they brought with them outside the mosque.
Hagia Sophia-i Kebir Mosque-i Sharif Imam orator Ferruh Muştuer led the Eid prayer.
After the prayer, Bünyamin Topçuoğlu, one of the imams of the mosque, delivered a sermon on the pulpit, holding a sword in his hand.
