What to know Türkiye’s 30 August Victory Day
The ancient legacy of Sultan Alparslan, who opened the gates of Anatolia on August 26, 1071, was protected forever on August 30, 1922, with a great battle led by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The Great Offensive and the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief, which the Turkish army launched on August 26, 1922, and crowned with a great victory on August 30, became one of the greatest epics of heroism.

On the morning of August 26, the order to attack was given from Afyon Kocatepe, and the battle map was followed on a broken oxcart. The Great Offensive and the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief, which resulted in the August 30th Victory, went down in history as one of the greatest epics of heroism.
After a preparation period of about one year to completely clear the enemy forces from our country, on August 26, 1922, Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal Pasha gave the order to launch the Great Offensive.
Following the operation that began at dawn with artillery fire, the Turkish soldiers launched an assault at the first light of day, captured Tınaztepe, and drove the enemy from Belentepe and Kalecik Sivrisi. When August 30 arrived, the final order to attack was given from a battle map spread on a broken oxcart.
