While preparing for the U23 European Rowing Championships scheduled for September 7-8 in Edirne, the team marked the occasion by displaying a 50-meter-long Turkish flag on the Meriç River after their morning practice.
Rowing National Team Coach Sonat Doğan expressed their enthusiasm for the celebration and honored Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades, who played a crucial role in the nation's liberation and establishment.
"We are here for a national duty. We are in training for the U23 European Rowing Championships next weekend. We are celebrating August 30 Victory Day by unfurling a 50-meter Turkish flag after practice. Our goal is to win medals and play the National Anthem for the Turkish people in Edirne," Doğan said.
