According to experts, some of the reasons for the escalation of the war include:
Ukraine, with increased military support from Europe and the U.S., has launched a counteroffensive to regain lost territory. They aim to achieve results before winter sets in.
The Kiev administration had also recently announced that "War will soon be brought entirely to Russian territories." Since that day, attacks towards Russian territories have increased. It is believed that Russia, on the other hand, is threatening Europe through Poland.
In September, the G-20 Summit will be held in India. According to a source from the Kremlin, Russian President Putin's participation in the summit is on the agenda as a way to "re-emerge on the global stage." Putin aims to strengthen his position before the G-20. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Ukraine attempted drone attacks on Moscow and Sevastopol.
According to Russian media, a plane flying from Türkiye to Moscow was diverted to Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg. Another area where the war is spreading is the Black Sea. The New York Times headlined, "The Black Sea, a battleground as important for NATO as Ukraine."
The news highlighted the increased tension following Russia's withdrawal from the grain initiative, stating, "Russia starts hitting the coasts, Ukraine attacks Russian ships."
