Quake survivors: There is lack of humanity in CHP municipality’s actions

The Republican People's (CHP) Party, dissatisfied with the election outcome in the earthquake-affected area, put the blame on quake survivors.
Beginning with severe insults directed towards the victims, their actions continue to demonstrate a disregard for the well-being and dignity of those affected by the earthquake.
The municipality, despite initially offering temporary accommodation to earthquake victims until August 13, requested that they evacuate the hotel located in Kumbağ District of Tekirdağ.
In a shocking turn of events, the municipality forcefully displaced the earthquake victims, leaving them without shelter and abandoning them to face uncertain circumstances on the streets.
This act has provoked strong reactions from people who believed such a situation would never occur.
Following media coverage and public outcry, the earthquake victims who were initially asked to vacate the hotel by May 21 were granted an extension until June 1.
One of the quake survivors, İsmail Güldağ from Kahramanmaraş said: '' The state was the one who arranged our stay here and made an agreement with the hotel. We were initially informed that we would be allowed to leave on Sunday, but then the Mayor of Tekirdağ Süleymanpaşa from the Justice and Development (AK) Party intervened."
Güldağ expressed his disappointment, questioning whether they were being treated as refugees or as Turkish citizens who have their rights.
Another survivor, Fadime Taşçı, stated that she arrived in Tekirdağ three months ago and was shocked to hear statements such as "You have to leave in 4-5 days" while she was undergoing cancer treatment at a hospital.
This added distress to her already challenging situation and raised concerns about the uncertain future she and others were facing.
