‘Ghost Eye' TOYGUN, undetectable by radar, integrated into KIZILELMA

Bayraktar KIZILELMA, the unmanned combat aircraft developed nationally by Baykar using its own resources, has successfully tested another critical capability poised to propel Türkiye into a new aviation league.

As the national unmanned fighter's development continues as planned, the integration of the TOYGUN Electro-Optical Targeting System (EOTS), developed entirely domestically by ASELSAN, has been successfully completed.

TOYGUN, ASELSAN's most advanced product in the infrared (IR) band, is set to provide Bayraktar KIZILELMA with a significant advantage on the battlefield.

The system demonstrated superior performance during two separate flight tests conducted last week at the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Çorlu.

During the tests, the system successfully verified its ability to:

- Produce stable imagery at different altitudes and speed regimes,

- Maintain long-range tracking stability on moving targets,

- Operate its laser targeting functions with high accuracy.

The system was observed to maintain seamless data exchange with KIZILELMA's integrated mission computer and preserved its performance even under challenging environmental conditions. The test results also confirmed that all technical criteria required to advance to the serial integration phase have been met.

These tests represent the first application of "embedded EOTS" technology on an unmanned combat aircraft in the world.

While platforms like the F-16 carry targeting systems as external pods, embedding this system within the Bayraktar KIZILELMA's fuselage is critical for the aircraft's low radar cross-section (low visibility) capability. The TOYGUN EOTS enables Bayraktar KIZILELMA to perform advanced targeting while maintaining this strategic stealth advantage.

This advanced, fuselage-embedded electro-optical targeting system is a feature found only in 5th-generation manned platforms, such as the US-made F-35.

With the successful integration of this technology into Bayraktar KIZILELMA, Türkiye has become one of only three countries in the world to possess this critical capability.

Developed with a specific engineering approach for KIZILELMA, TOYGUN includes optimizations tailored for unmanned combat concepts. The system features wide-spectrum scanning capabilities that contribute to 360-degree mission awareness.

It can detect strategic targets and moving land/sea units from long distances using high-resolution IR (Infrared) imaging. It also enhances Bayraktar KIZILELMA's autonomous power through AI-supported target tracking and automatic target classification algorithms.

Thanks to this capability, Bayraktar KIZILELMA will be able to infiltrate deep behind enemy lines without compromising its low-visibility advantage. It will be able to detect its target without being caught by radar, designate it with a laser, and destroy targets using national munitions.
