Folk singer Aydın Aydın raises awareness about water scarcity with new song
The artist Aydın Aydın composed a folk song named 'Sound of Water' to draw attention to the global water scarcity due to drought.
Aydın shot the music video for the song at Kaval Waterfall in Hakkari and Zernek Dam Lake in Van's Gürpınar district, where water withdrawal due to drought is occurring. Aydın swam in the waterfall and walked and crawled in the mud of the dam lake, shedding tears.

With the aim of raising awareness about environmental issues, nature destruction, traffic, violence against women, and the coronavirus, folk singer Aydın Aydın, who has gained attention with his music videos, composed the song 'Sound of Water' to draw attention to drought and water scarcity.
He shot the music video in Hakkari, entering Kaval Waterfall to highlight the water scarcity. The singer shed tears while crawling in the mud of Van's Zernek Dam Lake, which has experienced water withdrawal due to drought.
"We Couldn't Leave a Healthy World for Our Children" Artist Aydın mentioned that many wetlands, including Zernek Dam Lake where water withdrawal is happening due to drought, have turned into deserts.
He said, "Everything has dried up. We didn't leave a healthy world for our children and grandchildren. Glaciers are melting. Glaciers in Hakkari's Cilo-Sat Mountains have started to melt. Because we didn't appreciate the value of water. We wasted water, polluted water, couldn't take care of it, and unfortunately, water has left us today. It's not too late actually. I want to address the whole world. Please let's take care of this water, let's not waste or pollute it. This duty is for all of us, for a clean world. Please let's take care of the water."
