ASELSAN YILDIRIM 100: Rendering enemy missiles helpless
One of the most important tests for the Turkish defense industry was completed recently. Developed by ASELSAN engineers and named YILDIRIM 100, the directed infrared countermeasure system targeted a missile fired by enemy forces as part of the scenario.

In its simplest form, YILDIRIM-100 can be defined as "pointing a laser at the enemy missile and rendering it incapable of functioning." However, it is actually a complex system involving a series of challenging tasks.
Defense Industry Expert Kubilay Yıldırım discussed the details of ASELSAN's YILDIRIM 100 project. "In summary, Türkiye is present almost everywhere in the world. And most of the systems we use today are domestically produced. Work is also underway to develop systems with technology superior to what we currently have," said Yıldırım.
