Galatasaray shines at home with 3-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt

Galatasaray on Wednesday hosted Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt at home in Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League.

OSIMHEN OFF TO A RECORD-BREAKING START

Galatasaray's Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen put his team ahead just 3 minutes into the match, finding the back of the net and giving Cimbom an early 1-0 lead.

The goal by the 26-year-old star also became the earliest goal ever scored by Galatasaray in UEFA Champions League history.

OSIMHEN STRIKES AGAIN FOR A BRACE

Ramping up the pressure after the opening goal, Galatasaray doubled their lead in the 33rd minute. Capitalizing on a ball won through Yunus's pressing, Osimhen found himself one-on-one and calmly slotted home his second of the night, sending Cimbom into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.

YUNUS AKGUN JOINS THE PARTY

Creating numerous chances in the second half, Galatasaray continued their dominance, and this time it was Yunus Akgün who stepped up. The 25-year-old star found the net in the 60th minute, extending the lead to 3-0.

In a back-and-forth battle, Bodo/Glimt pulled one back in the 75th minute through Helmersen, reducing the deficit to 3-1.

No further goals were scored in the remaining minutes, and Galatasaray secured a 3-1 victory over the Norwegian side, marking their second consecutive win in the Champions League.

With their win, Galatasaray increased their points to 6 and climbed to 11th place in the group, albeit with a game in hand. The Yellow-Reds will face Dutch side Ajax away in their Round 4 Champions League match.

OSIMHEN SETS NEW RECORD WITH SEVEN CONSECUTIVE EUROPEAN CUP GOALS

The striker extended his scoring streak to seven consecutive European matches, breaking Burak Yılmaz's previous record and making history for Galatasaray.

GALATASARAY SHOWS SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINE THROUGH CHOREOGRAPHY

Before the Galatasaray vs. Bodo/Glimt match, fans in the north stand displayed a powerful choreography reading "Stop The Genocide" to support the people of Palestine. Additionally, supporters at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex chanted slogans such as "Down with Israel, Freedom for Palestine" to express their solidarity.
