Weaving art moved from Dutch painting to Bergama
Inspired by Hooch's inclusion of the Bergama rug in his artwork, Gülay Fitöz initiated a project. After consulting with officials, Fitöz implemented a project titled "Holland's Immortal Muses: Anatolian Women" with the support of the Dutch Embassy in Ankara, the Consulate General in Istanbul, and the Menderes Public Education Center Directorate.

For the project, Fitöz selected the painting "A Woman Playing a Lute in a Respectable Interior and a Singing Couple" by the artist and came to Bergama for it to be woven by the women in its homeland.
Started in August, the 5 square meter rug, which has dominant tones of orange, blue, terracotta, andesite, powder, and pistachio green, is aimed to be completed and exhibited in November.
