Serafina Avramidu, the Animal Welfare Advisor for the Municipality of Athens, stated that the law passed by the parliament in 2021 concerning the protection of pets includes numerous provisions for stray animals. She mentioned that the responsibility for stray animals was assigned to municipalities under the Interior Ministry by this law.
