The confirmation of her arrest was given by her representatives on Tuesday.
On July 10, Hadid and her friend Leah Nicole McCarthy were detained by customs officers upon their arrival in the islands via a private jet, as reported by the Cayman Marl Road.
''During the search of their luggage, customs officials discovered ganja and related consumption utensils in both passengers' belongings'' as per the report.
The quantities were deemed to be relatively small and seemingly intended for personal use.
According to Gigi Hadid's representative, Ronde Coletta, she had legally acquired the marijuana in New York City through a medical license.
Coletta further mentioned that the medical use of marijuana has been permitted in Grand Cayman since 2017, clarifying the situation to The Washington Post.
