Located near İztuzu Beach, one of Europe's best caretta caretta conservation and nesting areas, DEKAMER has been carrying out protection work since 2008 while also treating injured sea turtles found across Türkiye.
In the Special Environmental Protection Area (SEPA) covering İztuzu, Sarıgerme, and Dalaman beaches, DEKAMER staff and volunteers work day and night, walking about 15 kilometers each night to support conservation efforts.
Hatchlings whose incubation period is over but cannot emerge from the nest are helped to the sea by volunteers.
