During the times of the Ottoman, Mamluk, Ayyubid, and Fatimid states, in addition to the official celebrations of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, literary works that dealt with the love for the Prophet were composed in Turkish and Arabic literature.
Especially in a significant part of Islamic societies, the mesnevi (narrative poem) titled "Vesiletü'n Necat (The Means of Salvation)" by Süleyman Çelebi, which received widespread attention, was recited in melodious or unique styles during Mawlid ceremonies.
The Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı) will commemorate the Week of the Birth of the Prophet (Mevlid-i Nebi) this year from September 26 to October 2 with various activities, under the theme "Our Prophet, Faith, and Uprightness."
