The U.K. has offered a Brexit 'divorce bill' to the EU worth up to €50 billion ($59 billion), the British public broadcaster reported on Wednesday.
A BBC report claimed that the offer was welcomed by the bloc, as there has been no final deal on a figure.
"The offer was communicated to Brussels after last week's cabinet meeting," the BBC wrote.
Prime Minister Theresa May said last week her talks in Brussels with EU leaders took place in a "very positive atmosphere".
Speaking to Sky News after her meetings, May reiterated the U.K. would honor its financial commitments to the EU.
British voters opted to leave the EU in a referendum over a year ago and Brexit negotiations are supposed to be finalized in March 2019.
A summit in December will decide if Brexit talks continue to a second phase, involving trade issues.
