In a test firing in Mersin, Türkiye, the domestically developed kamikaze unmanned marine vehicles (IDA) named Albatros successfully hit and sank a target ship with precision.

The Albatros, developed by ASELSAN, is designed to hit enemy targets at high speed on water, ensuring that its payload detonates upon impact.

During the test, a group of eight Albatros vehicles attacked the target ship, with one carrying ROKETSAN ammunition hitting the ship and causing it to sink.

Notably, this test demonstrated the concept of swarm kamikaze attack with joint operation by the IDA and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), such as the Bayraktar TB2, operated by the Naval Forces Command.

The successful test was closely monitored by Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün, ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol, and other officials at the Naval Forces Command Headquarters.

It's worth noting that environmental precautions were taken before the test to prevent harm to the environment, including cleaning the target ship of contaminants like fuel and oil.
