Manchester City survived a stirring Leicester City fightback to claim a 2-1 win that lifted them above Liverpool into third in the Premier League on Saturday.
The hosts, looking to cement their top-four status, were cruising when goals by David Silva and Gabriel Jesus put them 2-0 ahead after 36 minutes but Leicester hit back strongly.
David Silva and Gabriel Jesus secured victory for City but had to withstand a second-half fightback to move third, two points above Liverpool, with two games to go.
Silva opened the scoring after 29 minutes and Jesus doubled their lead with a penalty seven minutes later after a foul on Leroy Sane, only for Shinji Okazaki to pull one back before half-time with a superb volley.
Riyad Mahrez won a penalty for Leicester late on and found the corner of the net but his spot-kick was ruled out for two touches, as a slip saw his left-foot strike cannon off his right foot.
Jamie Vardy also missed a late chance but a nervy City hung on to move to 72 points with two games remaining.
Liverpool have 70 points with two games left while fifth-placed Arsenal have 66 with three to play.
