Google Maps will soon offer users additional information to help them manage better in the era of coronavirus, including details on crowding on board public transportation and information about restrictions and changed regulations.

In a blog post on Monday, the company said it would be offering transit alerts in 14 countries in Europe, Latin America, India and the US, and more would be added.

Some of the features include information on the level of crowding on trains and buses, changes to regular schedules and rules, like whether a public transit system requires users to wear masks.

The map will also warn drivers when their route involves crossing borders, given that some frontiers are closed and rules can change in different jurisdictions, such as between US states.
