US media releases report on talks with Russians

According to reports in the US media, President Donald Trump told Russian officials that firing FBI Director James Comey had eased "great pressure" on him.

The New York Times cited a document which summarized Trump's meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei lavrov and Russian Ambassador, Sergei Kislyak last week.

Trump reportedly called ex-fbi-director Comey a "real nut job"...

According to the report, He told the Russians he had just fired Comey, and that he was "crazy, a real nut job". The president added that he had faced great pressure because of allegations over links to Russia but that the pressure had been taken off after firing Comey.

Comey had been running an investigation into possible collusion between Russia and Donald Trump's election campaign.

The latest report was published just as Trump departed on a flight to the Middle East for the first leg of his first foreign tour as president.

The white house has not disputed the language used in the meeting at the oval office.

Meanwhile, ex-fbi director Comey has agreed to testify before the senate intelligence committee about the investigation the panel's leaders announced friday

Comey reportedly said that President Trump was trying to influence him over the Russia probe, but whether that influence caused an obstruction of justice remains an open question.
