Asma's mother Sena el-Beltagi speaks to A News: "The coup pushed us hundreds of years back"

Sena el-Beltagi mother of Asma who is icon of the revolution said in an exclusive interview with A News that the 2013 coup pushed us hundreds of years back, nearly 4,000 were martyred, thousands went missing and activists mowed down by putschists.

She talked on A News broadcast about her daughter Asma el-Beltagi who was one of the victims of Sisi's massacres. Mother Beltagi said Asma is only a symbol, there are thousands of other names, Asma gave her life for what she believed in.

Beltagi added when Asma saw people dying, she wanted to pray, she was our only daughter, she was an example to all girls.
