Iraqi army captured the Kurdish-held city of Kirkuk after the operation started on Monday. The operation started after a meeting held between Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi central government on Sunday. The forces secured important points such as oil fields, airports and an air base held by Kurdish forces near the oil-rich city of Kirkuk.
