Trump says he will reinstate travel bans, implement 'ideological screenings' for immigrants

"If you hate America, if you want to abolish Israel, if you don't like our religion -- which a lot of them don't -- if you sympathize with jihadists, then we don't want you in our country, and you are not getting in," Former US President Donald Trump said.

Former US President Donald Trump vowed Monday to reinstate travel bans and implement "ideological screenings" for immigrants if he is re-elected to the White House in 2024.

"I will implement strong ideological screening of all immigrants," Trump said during a campaign rally in Derry, New Hampshire.

"If you hate America, if you want to abolish Israel, if you don't like our religion -- which a lot of them don't -- if you sympathize with jihadists, then we don't want you in our country, and you are not getting in," he said.

During his remarks, Trump continued his attacks against President Joe Biden for being not "capable" and putting America last.

Claiming that millions of illegal migrants crossed into the US under the Biden administration, he reiterated his plans to deport them.

"We're like a dumping ground, and nobody does anything about it. And we are going to be sorting for a long time, but we're going to get them the hell out of here," he added.

Regarding the conflict in Gaza, Trump asserted that the responsibility for the current upheaval in the Middle East lies with the Biden administration.
