Turkish air strikes hit PKK/YPG terrorists attempting to infiltrate the vicinity of a military base in southeastern Turkey, security sources said on Wednesday.

Turkish jets targeted terrorists in Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province -- bordering Iraq -- where four soldiers had recently been martyred and six others injured during operations against the PKK/YPG.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children.
