Turkish police seized over 16,000 packets of cigarettes Friday in southeastern Şırnak province.
The contraband cigarettes were found hidden under a trailer truck, according to security sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.
The truck driver was taken into custody on smuggling charges.
