Spain hammer France to win Women's EuroBasket

Spain thrashed France 86-66 to win the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 in the Serbian capital of Belgrade late Sunday.

Spanish point guard Marta Xargay was on fire against France in the final, scoring 23 points. Her teammate Silvia Dominguez produced 13 points.

The other Spanish point guard Laia Palau tallied 12 points.

Additionally, Spanish center Laura Gil scored nine points with10 rebounds.

France lost the final in Belgrade but three players scored in double digits against Spain.

Center Sandrine Gruda gained 18 points. French shooting guard Bria Hartley scored 17 points and French power forward Endene Miyem produced 11 points in the final.

The FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 was co-hosted by Latvia and Serbia.

Spain previously won the EuroBasket title in 1993, 2013 and 2017.

Separately, the tournament's host nation Serbia came third, beating Great Britain 81-55 in the third place game on Sunday.
