Istanbul heavyweights Beşiktaş defeated Portugal's Porto 3-1 late Wednesday in Estadio do Dragao in a Champions League group stage match.

With the result, the team kicked off its 2017/18 UEFA Champions League campaign successfully in Group G.

Anderson Talisca of the Black Eagles scored a beautiful opener at 13th minute, only to be equalized 7 minutes later by an own goal by Dusko Tosic.

Later on, Cenk Tosun sent the ball to the nets at the 28th minute to put the Turkish team ahead.

At minute 86, Beşiktaş's Ryan Babel concluded the match with a wonderful shot, bringing the score to 3-1.

Beşiktaş and Porto first met in the 2007/08 group stages, with Porto winning both fixtures. The Dragons prevailed 1-0 in Istanbul and 2-0 in Porto, with Ricardo Quaresma, now playing for Beşiktaş, scoring in each game.

Porto also prevailed at Beşiktaş in the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League group stages, their 3-1 victory in Istanbul earned by Radamel Falcao and two-goal Hulk. Bobo scored an added-time consolation for the hosts.
