More than 1,538 Israelis have been killed since the outbreak of the Gaza war on Oct. 7, the public broadcaster KAN said Monday.

KAN said 823 bodies have so far been identified and 715 have already been buried.

On Sunday, Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari said that the military deaths in the Gaza war reached 311.

According to the Israeli Health Ministry, 5,431 Israelis have also been injured in the conflict.

Israel has launched a massive campaign of aerial bombardment of the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Palestinian group Hamas into Israeli territory on Oct. 7.

Gaza's Health Ministry said at least 8,005 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli offensive, including 3,342 children, 2,062 women, and 460 elderly people.

Gaza's 2.3 million residents are grappling with shortages of food, water, fuel and medicine due to Israel's blockade of the enclave.
