An Israeli infantry patrol on Tuesday fired three shots at a Lebanese shepherd near the Israel-Lebanon border, according to Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA).

The patrol "fired three shots from a light machine gun towards the shepherd while the latter was grazing his herd near the Al-Shahal locality west of the Shebaa region", NNA reported.

The shepherd escaped unscathed, the news agency added, going on to note that both the Lebanese army and UNIFIL (the UN Interim Force in Lebanon) were "following up" on the reported incident.
