Three men were arrested in connection with racist abuse targeting pro-Palestine demonstrators in London this weekend, said police on Monday.
"Arrests made in investigation into hate crime at London Waterloo Station. Three men have been arrested in connection with a racially aggravated altercation which took place at London Waterloo Station on Saturday 11 November," the British Transport Police said on X.
The individuals arrested include a 57-year-old from Surbiton, a 61-year-old from West Molesey, and a 33-year-old from Christchurch. The incident occurred around 5.30 pm GMT.
These arrests came in the wake of over 100 people being detained by the Metropolitan Police during the weekend, involving confrontations between far-right and pro-Palestine protesters.
Hundreds of thousands of people held a march on Saturday to call for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.
Far-right groups, who were also present at the Armistice Day ceremony on the same day, clashed with police and attacked some pro-Palestine demonstrators in central London.
