Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at open

Turkey's stock exchange climbed 0.41 percent, or 387.86 points, to open at 94,735.52 points on Tuesday.

On the second transaction day of the week, the banking and holding sector indices gained 0.62 percent and 0.51 percent, respectively.

While all sector indices rose, the tourism sector index posted the best performance, up 0.71 percent.

On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 closed at 94,347.66, down 0.43 percent, or 411.98 points, with a trading volume of 6.5 billion Turkish liras (around $1.02 billion).

The USD/TRY lira exchange rose to 6.3580 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday. It was 6.2860 at Monday's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate also climbed to 7.4470 by market open -- from 7.3550 at the previous close.

The GBP/TRY exchange rate was 8.3840 on Tuesday, while one British pound traded for 8.2890 Turkish liras at the previous close.

The price of Brent oil stood at $77.78 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Tuesday, compared to $78.33 on Monday -- climbing from around $66 at the beginning of 2018.
