Azerbaijan, Armenia closer than ever to peace deal: Aliyev

On Tuesday, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan stated that his nation and long-standing enemy Armenia were nearing an agreement to put an end to a longstanding conflict over territory, which has led to various wars.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said Tuesday that his country and arch-foe Armenia were close to signing a peace deal to end a decades-long territorial dispute that has sparked wars.

"We are close as never before," Aliyev said in Baku, adding that "we now have a common understanding of how the peace agreement should look like, we only need to address details".
