During the G20 meetings held in India, where he represented Turkey, Şimşek had a bilateral meeting with the US. Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen as a part of his activities there.
The meeting lasted for 45 minutes, and accompanying Şimşek was Hafize Gaye Erkan, the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT).
