Two Turkish soldiers were slightly injured when a bomb exploded near their vehicle in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Tuesday.

According to the provincial governor's office, the PKK device exploded while the soldiers' vehicle was passing though Cobanpinar village in Hakkari's Yuksekova district.

The injured soldiers have been receiving treatment in Yuksekova State Hospital and an inquiry into the incident is ongoing, a statement added.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015.

Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
