Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım condemned criticism of Turkey's constitutional referendum on Tuesday.

"Rumors of irregularities are an empty effort to cast a shadow on the referendum results," Yıldırım said at the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party group meeting in Turkey's capital of Ankara on Tuesday morning.

The prime minister also announced that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would regain ties to the ruling AK Party once the official referendum results were announced.

"The people's will has been reflected at the ballot box, and the debate is over," he said.

"Everyone should respect the outcome, especially the main opposition."

Yıldırım added that, "Now is a time for unity."

"We are going to work harder, and continue to add value to our nation," the prime minister said.
