UN humanitarian rights chief calls Gaza war 'betrayal of humanity': statement

The United Nations' under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief, Martin Griffiths, on Saturday decried Israel's war against Gaza as a "betrayal of humanity."

In a statement on the eve of the six-month anniversary of the war, the outgoing humanitarian official called for a "collective determination that there be a reckoning for this betrayal of humanity."
