Detained Daesh terrorist was planning a terror attack on Hagia Sophia: Police

Turkey's decisive fight against terrorism yields positive results within and beyond its borders.

Turkish security forces detained a senior Daesh terrorist who was masterminding terror attacks with groups of 10 to 12 terrorists.

According to the official investigation, the senior Daesh terrorist was preparing an attack on Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque.

The terrorist, identified as Mahmud Özden, was also planning to target politicians, nongovernmental organization heads and other prominent figures.
