Gaza's Government Media Office said Tuesday a large number of people were killed and injured in Israeli airstrikes on a residential neighborhood in the central city of Deir al-Balah.
"The bombardment has caused massive destruction in the area," Salama Marouf, a spokesman for the office, told Anadolu.
Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra confirmed that casualties were reported in the Israeli attack, but did not give an exact figure.
"Medics are still working to recover people from under the rubble," he told Anadolu.
Israel has launched relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by Hamas a month ago.
At least 10,328 Palestinians have been killed, including 4,237 children and 2,719 women, according to the Health Ministry in the blockaded enclave. Nearly 1,600 Israelis have also been killed in the conflict.
