China has an "obligation" to join the US and Russia in talks to replace a nuclear disarmament treaty, the US said Tuesday, a day after bilateral US-Russian talks in Vienna.
"They (China) have an obligation to negotiate in good faith with us and the Russians," American envoy to the talks Marshall Billingslea told reporters, adding that "they stood up not just the United States and Russia but they stood up the entire world".
