Moroccan security authorities on Friday announced they have arrested two Israelis in the western city of Marrakesh on suspicion of forging administrative documents and passports.

In a statement on Friday, the Directorate General of National Security in Morocco said the arrest of the two Israelis came as part of a continuing judicial probe into a criminal network specialized in forging administrative documents in order to enable foreign citizens to obtain Moroccan identity and travel documents.

The probe proved that the suspects obtained Moroccan identity documents and passports using fake documents, the statement said, adding they got the fake documents through a criminal network, which was dismantled by the National Police Judicial Division in Casablanca at the beginning of March.

Last month, Rabat announced the arrest of five Israelis suspected for forging Moroccan passports and documents.
