Turkey on Friday welcomed New Zealand's move to keep PKK terrorist group in its updated terrorist organizations list.

"We welcome that the PKK, along with its other titles, such as KCK and KONGRA-GEL, continues to be designated in the updated terrorist organizations list that New Zealand issued today, amongst other terrorist organizations," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry emphasized the importance of cooperation in fighting the terrorism, as well as countering all terrorist organizations without making any distinction amongst them.

Turkey also voiced hope that New Zealand and other partners of Turkey will continue the "increased support" in fight against the PKK terrorists.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women and children.
